Vitamix and OMNI Containers are interchangeable although at the moment different styles of tampers or blender container accelerator tools are used. Blendtec officially does not need a tamper but still consumers think it is an occasional necessity. This means, the safety precautions when using a tamper apply to vitamix, omni, and blendtec, etc… blenders.
