I’ve got lots of very ripe bananas that need using up. My girls had banana smoothies at a cafe the other day and loved them so I’d like to try making some myself, but all the recipes I’ve found either have ice in them or use a blender (or both!). Can I make them without? I don’t have any other fruit either, but I have got peanut butter and honey. I know I could just have a go at it but I don’t want to end up with a sticky mess and waste everything!

Ok I take it I really need a blender! But I wasn’t going to go out and get one just to make 1 smoothie, so I made banana cookies instead

you could try this
1 big bowl
1 whisk
milk
ice cream
little bit of honey
LOTS of elbow grease
put the bananas ( Chopped up ) in bowl, add some ice cream and mix up really well until it looks like whipped cream ( 10 mins ) then slowly add milk and the honey, by the end of this you will have very sore arms and possible be sweating, or ,,, buy a blender

ou could try mashing the banana’s up with yoghurt and ice cream until smooth and then shaking. Although that sounds like it could take a bit. I’d reccomend buying a smoothie maker.

You really need a blender but if you take some bananas, yogurt, and honey or sugar (if you want, i dont usually use sugar in them) and beat them with a mixer that may work. Your best bet is to get ablender though. I got a cheap one from hamilton for about ten or fifteen us and its been good for a few years…

You could definitely make it without Ice. I like to make smoothies with fruit, and a yogurt/milk blend (no ice at all). I do use a blender though,s o it might be difficult to get the consistency you want without a blender. It may be possible, but may take forever, as you mash it up. Perhaps using a mortor/pestle would work.

Try using chilled milk. And if you dont mind the bananas turning brown, you can peel them and chill them too.Yoghurt is chilled obviously.
